Our Story
Our Story
Local Roots, Lasting Relationships
Karen's Green Cleaning started with a simple idea: a clean home shouldn't come with harsh chemical fumes. From our home base in Northeast Minneapolis, we've grown into one of the Twin Cities' most trusted green cleaning companies, and you've probably seen our team walking into a neighbor's home, The Larking Apartments in Central Minneapolis, or Hennepin Apartment Homes in the Warehouse District.
Today, small business owner and cleaning expert Raquel Perez leads our cleaning team, alongside team lead Penny Llaban, who has been with us since the very beginning. Many of our clients have stayed with us for years, and many first heard about us from a neighbor. For us, cleaning isn't only a job. It's how we bring a little peace and health into the homes of the families we serve.

Raquel Perez
Small Business Owner & Cleaning Expert at Karen's Green Cleaning
Raquel Perez is the small business owner and cleaning expert behind Karen's Green Cleaning. She knows the work from the inside out and brings that hands-on expertise to every home our team cleans.
A devoted animal advocate, Raquel makes sure every product we use is safe for the pets who share your home, from curious cats to dogs who nap on freshly mopped floors. She leads our team with a simple standard: protect the people and animals inside, notice the details others miss, and leave every client feeling cared for.
"A clean home should feel healthy, not just look good. That's the promise behind every visit."

Meet Our Team Lead
Penny Llaban
Team Lead, Professional Cleaner & Environmental Advocate
Penny Llaban has been with Karen's Green Cleaning since day one. Over the years, she has trained many of the cleaners on our team, and her standards are a big part of why our clients keep coming back.
A passionate environmental advocate, Penny believes a spotless home should never come at the planet's expense. She champions our eco-friendly approach on every visit, from choosing non-toxic, biodegradable products to using reusable microfiber cloths that cut down on waste.
Penny is known for her doorway check: before leaving any room, she steps back and sees it the way you will when you walk in. If anything catches her eye, from a streak on the mirror to a pillow out of place, she fixes it before moving on. It's a habit she passes on to every cleaner she trains.
"I clean every home like someone I love is about to walk through the door."
Our Mission
Our Mission
A Healthier Home Without Compromise
We believe a clean, happy home matters just as much as caring for the planet. That's why our team is fully committed to eco-friendly products that leave your home looking pristine while keeping the Earth safe.
Prefer your own supplies? Just let us know where they are, and we'll note it on your service order.
Green Cleaning
How We Clean Green
Eco-Friendly Cleaning That Gets Results
We use non-toxic, biodegradable cleaning products that cut through dirt and grime without leaving harsh fumes or residue behind. They're safer for kids, pets, and the planet, and they leave your home smelling fresh and clean.
Some surfaces need extra care, like antiques and delicate wood finishes, so we adjust our approach to protect them.
